Finding Rest For Your Soul

Matthew 11_28-29 “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls (NKJV)”.

In this scripture when Jesus said come to me and I will give you rest He didn’t say he would give us rest with no strings attached. He said take my yoke and “learn from me (NKJV)”, “learn of me (KJV)” or “let me teach you (NLT)”. As believers we need to learn his ways and learn who he is. In fact, this is an effective method for having eternal peace in the midst of the storms of life. This is the kind of peace that surpasses all understanding and you will find rest for your soul. A lot of times we grow weary in waiting upon the Lord but he only promises us in due time or the appropriate time that he will deliver. His time and our time may seem to never align but in due time we will reap if we faint not. At just the right time Christ died for us so know that whatever situation you maybe in you can find rest for your soul. We can only learn who God is from him. He is the Author and finisher of our faith, the Alpha and Omega, He is the Lord thy God, the Holy Spirit, our comforter and redeemer. We need to be confident in our faith so that we can focus and humble our hearts before God. The Holy Spirit will teach us how to live. He will give us strategies and ideas on how to carry his yoke so that our souls may find rest Be encouraged, be inspired and be blessed!
